This salad was created in 1983 in New York City with the purpose of celebrating the arrival of Spring, its creator Oscar Tschirky used only 3 ingredients: mayonnaise, celery and apples. Its flavor was so successful that it became very famous and began to be sold as a Waldorf salad, taking the name of the hotel where it was first served.
Over the years, Mexicans have adopted this recipe and added our sweet and sour touch to it, making it one of our most popular dishes for the Christmas season.
